Artist biography

Lives and works as a visual artist in the Netherlands and Ireland.

He studied at the Minerva Art Academy (BA) in Groningen and at the Sint Lucas Academie (MA) in Ghent. He has lectured in Ireland at the art academies of Cork, Dublin, Sligo and Belfast, and in the Netherlands at the academies in Enschede and Groningen. He still lectures at the art academy in Groningen today.

In 1997 his work was exhibited in the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, and two years later the Cobra Museum in Amstelveen showed an overview. In 2008 his work was shown in the Irish Museum of Modern Art in Dublin.

Worldwide, he has exhibited in galleries from New York to Tokyo as well as at international art fairs, including Art Basel, FIAC Paris and Art Forum Berlin. His work is held in various private and public collections. In the Netherlands his work is included in the collections of the Teylers Museum Haarlem, Stedelijk Museum de Lakenhal Leiden, Fries Museum Leeuwarden, Museum Belvédère Heerenveen/Oranjewoud, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, and the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam.
